چکیده

Photon-induced ultrafast energy dissipation in small isolated Ni3 2 has been studied by two-color pumpprobe photoelectron spectroscopy. The time-resolved photoelectron spectra clearly trace the path from a singleelectron excitation to a thermalized cluster via both inelastic electron-electron scattering and electronvibrational coupling. The relatively short electron-electron-scattering time of 215 fs results from the narrow energy spread of the partially filled d levels in this transition-metal cluster. The relaxation dynamics is discussed in view of the cluster size and in comparison to the totally different relaxation behavior of s/p-metal clusters.

Influence of Interface Thermal Resistance on Relaxation Dynamics of Metal-Dielectric Nanocomposite Materials under Ultrafast Pulse Laser Excitation

Nanocomposite materials, including noble metal nanoparticles embedded in a dielectric host medium, are interesting because of their optical properties linked to surface plasmon resonance phenomena. For studding of nonlinear optical properties and/or energy transfer process, these materials may be excited by ultrashort pulse laser with a temporal width varying from some femtoseconds to some hund...

Dynamics of optically excited electrons in the conducting polymer PEDT:PSS

Femtosecond time-resolved two-photon photoemission spectroscopy is employed to study the dynamics of the non-equilibrium electron distribution in the conducting polymer poly(3,4-ethylene-dioxythiophene): poly-(styrenesulfonate) (PEDT:PSS) film following optical excitation at 2.1 eV. We found that the electron thermalization occurs on a ultrafast time scale of around 60 fs analogous to the relax...

Simulations of the Ultrafast Transient Absorption Dynamics of a Donor-Acceptor Biaryl in Solution.

A model for simulating the transient electronic absorption spectra of donor-acceptor dyads undergoing ultrafast intramolecular charge transfer in solution has been developed. It is based on the stochastic multichannel point-transition approach and includes the reorganization of high-frequency intramolecular modes (treated quantum mechanically) and of low frequency intramolecular and solvent mod...

Ultrafast spin dynamics and critical behavior in half - metallic ferromagnet : Sr 2 FeMoO

Ultrafast spin dynamics in ferromagnetic half-metallic compound Sr 2 FeMoO 6 is investigated by pump-probe measurements of magneto-optical Kerr effect. Anomalous thermal insulation between spins and electrons due to half-metallic nature of this material gives rise to a very slow spin relaxation from a few to several-hundred picosecond after the optical excitation. The optically detected magneti...

Ultrafast electronic and vibrational relaxations in mixed-ligand dithione-dithiolato Ni, Pd, and Pt complexes.

Ultrafast excited-state dynamics of planar Pt, Pd, and Ni dithione-dithiolato complexes were investigated by transient absorption spectroscopy on the femtosecond-picosecond timescale. All studied complexes show a common photobehaviour, although individual kinetics parameters and quantum yields vary with the metal, the dithione ligand and, namely the solvent (DMF, MeCN). Laser pulse irradiation ...
